Draft menu group windows

Draft menu group and Draft menu groups editor windows,
New draft menu group entry window.

These windows are opened from the Draft menu and Draft menu groups directories.

The editor windows allow one or more draft groups to be edited.

Editor window

The Draft menu group editor window is used to edit a single draft menu group.

The window is opened by the Edit command in the context menu of the Draft menu and Draft menu groups directories when one draft menu group is selected, or by the Edit group command when one draft menu group shortcut is selected.

The window contains the Properties and Picture panels.

Draft menu group editor window

The Properties panel is the same as the Properties panel in the Menu group window in the Menu directory.

Properties panel fields:

Parent group — name of the draft menu group that the draft menu group is included in.

If this field is empty, the group is a top-level group.

To move a group to the top level, select (empty) in the drop-down list. This will clear the value in the field.

Parent groups are selected in the Select draft menu group window.
Name — name of the draft menu group. Required field.

The name of the draft menu group is displayed on the terminal.

Draft menu group names can be used to group information in printed reports.
Description — brief description.
Button format — format of the button used to select the draft menu group in the terminal menu.

Selection is made in the Select menu button format window.

Button format can be used when the GridButton parameter in the terminal configuration is set to True.

Security category — Security category for the menu group. Required field.

Selection is made in the Select security category window.

The security category defines which users have access to draft menu items and shortcuts contained in the group.

In order for users to be able to access the draft menu groups and group shortcuts, the security category for the draft menu group must be included in the access settings for their user role.
Selection code — code for quick selection in the terminal menu.
Index — incremental value which determines the position of the group in the terminal menu.

The default value entered by the system is displayed in black type. If it is changed from the default, it will be displayed in green type.

The index parameter can be used to place the most popular draft menu groups higher up in the menu, making them easier to access at the terminal.
For sale — defines whether items in the group can be sold independently.

The value is selected from No or Yes.

If No is selected, the draft menu group will not be displayed and will not be available for selection on the terminal. This is typically used for groups containing modifiers that are not to be sold separately.
Exclude from sale — temporarily removes group from the terminal menu, making the items and any subgroups contained in it unavailable for selection.

The value is selected from No or Yes.

If Yes is selected, the menu group will not be available for selection on the terminal.

Note

In order to exclude a group from sale in specific divisions or on specific terminals, use menu exclusions in the Sales exclusions directory, or in Sales exclusions mode on a Tillypad XL POS terminal.

Selecting OK will save the data in the directory and close the window.

Selecting Cancel will close the window without saving any changes.

Selecting Apply will save the data in the directory without closing the window.

After the draft menu group has been edited, it is given the status Edited and illustrated by the icon.

Multiple editor window

The multiple draft menu groups editor window is opened by the Edit command in the context menu of the Draft menu and Draft menu groups windows when more than one draft menu group is selected, or by the Edit group command when more than one draft menu group shortcut is selected.

The name of the window is Draft menu groups. This window includes a panel with a list of the selected draft menu groups.

The panels and fields are the same as in the Draft menu group editor window.

When multiple draft menu groups are selected for editing, any changes that are saved will be applied to all of the selected draft menu groups.

Entry window

The New draft menu group entry window is used to add a new draft menu group to the Menu and Draft menu groups directories.

The window is opened by the Add group command from the context menu of the Menu directory or by the Add command from the context menu of the Draft menu groups directory.
